History

Papirus was established in 1952, when the Ramenzoni family, originally from Italy and with a long tradition in making hats (Ramenzoni) and shirts (Bantam), also decided to produce the raw material to package their products. Therefore, the family bought a paperboard mill in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, which in just a few years became the family’s main business.

In 1972, the family built the current industrial mill, in the city of Limeira, 131 km away from de São Paulo.
